Perth Linux Users' Group

What is PLUG?

PLUG is the Perth Linux Users' Group, an association of people interested in Linux. We aim to promote Linux and support the users of Linux in Perth, Western Australia.

Linux is a free computer operating system. It runs on a large variety of computer hardware, and can be used for many purposes including desktop machines, small embedded systems and Internet servers. You can find more information about Linux itself on the Linux International and the Linux Australia web sites. The Linux Documentation Project is also a good place to find general information about Linux.

Welcome to people from Software Freedom Day!

If you got a CD on Software Freedom Day, welcome! PLUG is the main group in Perth behind Linux and Open Source Software, and we can help you with any questions you have.

For more information, email our mailing list or come along to one of our seminars.

PLUG would like to thank iVEC and the Western Australian Supercomputing Program for their generous support of this event.

Mailing list

One of the main forms of communication between PLUG members is our e-mail list. The list is a good way to get help if you're new to Linux, and also a good place for general discussion—both technical and social—regarding Linux and related topics.
