I'm not sure if it qualifies, but I used the company's 3G and Telstra
NextG modems a while back. My phone? Bog standard GSM, but I don't need
anything more (:

You're probably right - I can't think of a decent reason to disagree, so
I'm just procrastinating I suppose. Shameful, when it's about buying
cool stuff.

The only thing I can think of is physical footprint. Will HSDPA devices
be relatively small in the foreseeable future, or will they only ever be
big chunky things that plug into USB? Our Telstra NextG modems are
bigger than current day mobile phones.
I'm envisioning a netbook with some sort of built in or plugged in HSDPA
which doesn't stick out much more than a couple of cm.
