Subject: [plug-announce] *** PLUG January Seminar - Heading towards single sign-on with Kerberos ***
Hi all,

Just a quick note - I did say the AGM was this month; it's actually in
February (one year from the last AGM). Notices should be going out in
the next few days.

Title: "Heading towards single sign-on with Kerberos"
When: Tuesday, 13th January 2008, 7:30pm - 9:00pm.
Where: 'Futuresphere', Christ Church Grammar School, Queenslea Drive, Claremont
Presenter: Nick Sandford

Nick will be talking about the MIT Kerberos 5 implementation shipped
with many Linux distributions. Kerberos is an network authentication
protocol, and configured correctly will allow you to log in once and
provide transparent authentication to any services you access in a
session. Popular directory servers from Microsoft, Apple and a number
of other companies ship with Kerberos enabled by default, allowing you
to have a single authentication server for your mixed-OS network. Nick
will discuss setting up MIT Kerberos 5 in Ubuntu with cross-realm
authentication to a Windows Server 2003 server running Active
Directory.

We will be ordering pizza for consumption when the talk is over, and
possibly adjourning to a nearby pub for general discussion and drinks
after the presentation. A gold-coin donation is requested to cover the
costs of the pizza.

As usual, visitors and friends are most welcome.

Information (including a map to the venue) is also available on the
PLUG website: http://www.plug.org.au/events/seminar/.

See you there!

-Patrick
