Subject: [off-topic] DNS / Apache wildcards not allowed on .au domains?
Hi,

I have a client that requires wildcard dns and apcache rules on their
domain to make a 'personalised' url for advertisers, idea work.

We requested from their dns hosting provider to enable wildcard dns on
their domain, and got this back:

"
According to AUDA policy, it is not recommended to use wildcard dns for
.au domains. Please refer the below link:

http://www.auda.org.au/policies/auda-2007-02/

"

I would like to hear your opinions on this (in my opinion - WTF!) policy.

Do you use wildcards?

We are subsequently moving our dns hosting to another provider that will
do it.

-Lucas
