About PLUG
PLUG is the Perth Linux Users' Group, a not-for-profit incorporated association for people interested in Linux. We aim to promote Linux and support the users of Linux in Perth, Western Australia. PLUG's other goals include:
- Advocating the use of Linux, where appropriate
- Making it easier for local users to make contacts and get help
- Encouraging its members to share their knowledge about Linux and related technologies
We meet monthly, principally in Perth, but also at various regional locations. See our events page for the details.
We also provide a number of resources for its members and others interested in Linux.
Here is our Constitution and some other documents .
We welcome members not only from Perth, but from all over Western Australia. While most of our membership is from the capital, we also have members from all over the state, including Broome, Collie, Katanning and Kalgoorlie.
PLUG has started to stream it's monthly meetings online, and at the same time, started to encourage regional chapters to get together to watch the stream and participate online via IRC in real time. If you've got a bunch of friends who are interested, then why not find a suitable venue with internet access and invite anyone - and start a local chapter? PLUG currently has meetings in the following towns (see event details for confirmations):
- Katanning
